Good as Gold (Japanese: おうごんのからだ Gold Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Gholdengo.
Effect
In battle
| This Ability effect may be in need of research. Reason: Check Roar and Whirlwind; check Mimic and Copycat. You can discuss this on the talk page. |
Pokémon with this Ability are unaffected by other Pokémon's status moves. However, it can still be affected by its own status moves.
It does not block moves that target an entire side of the field (such as Stealth Rock) or all Pokémon (such as Haze). It does block potentially beneficial status moves from ally Pokémon, such as Helping Hand, Life Dew, and Howl.
If targeting a Pokémon with Good as Gold:
- Curse used by a Ghost-type Pokémon fails and does not deduct HP from the user.
- Defog fails and does not remove entry hazards, screens, terrains, etc. from the field.
- Memento fails and does not cause the user to faint.
- Strength Sap fails and does not reduce the target's Attack nor restore the user's HP.
- Transform and Sketch fail.
Outside of battle
Good as Gold has no effect outside of battle.
